At last insurance can be funny!
Lets face it, motor insurance and all matters around it is just simply something we have to sort out every year because it’s mandated by law. Policy excesses, no claims discount, who’s got the best deal is just really an annual pain and certainly something not likely to generate a laugh.
So it is very refreshing fo see 2009′s raft of insurance advertising on TV kick off with a very entertaining gem from comparethemarket.com. A cross between Meerkat Alley and Borat, comparethemeerkat.com had me in stitches. There is just something so funny about everyone’s favourite little furry African creature with a Rusky accent. And he is so seriously p’d off that people confuse his website with something to do with car insurance!
The central character Aleksandr even has his own following on Twitter and a Face Book page! Hopefully this is just the start of a series of Meerkat ads and we’ll get to meet the rest of Aleksandr’s family!
