Customer loyalty is all very well and you may have used the same provider for your caravan for a number of years. Things change though and it may make sense to regularly compare caravan insurance policies to make sure that your cover is still appropriate for both you and your caravan.
Changes
You may have changed how you use your caravan:
- you may use it more than you used to – or less;
- you may take it abroad or now just use it in the UK;
- cover for younger drivers, that you used to have on your policy, may not now be needed;
- you may recently have upgraded your fittings and fixtures or tend to have more valuable items in your caravan when you use it;
- conversely, while your contents, fixtures and fittings may still be perfectly serviceable, they may be looking a bit past their best;
- you may use different sites these days, which may offer different types of security for your caravan – for example permanent on-site supervision or in a flood free location.
Comparing caravan insurance
Any of these changes may have an impact on the suitability of your caravan insurance cover.
If you get a few quotes and compare caravan insurance on offer, you may be able to highlight some areas or features where you could benefit from making a change to a different provider.
When doing this sort of comparison, it may be important, in the first instance at least, not to get too hung up on the prices being offered. Concentrating on the actual cover provided may be a more appropriate approach.
Taking some time out to compare caravan insurance, may point you in the right direction to getting your caravan insurance back in line with how you now use your caravan.
